This course presents the basics of Machine Alignment.  Assessments, Tools, and Field Exercises are included in the curriculum.  Upon completion, the student should be able to: discuss why alignment is beneficial, read and interpret measuring instruments, describe a soft foot, make shim size calculations, demonstrate straight edge alignment techniques, demonstrate the use of a dial indicator in an alignment application, and operate laser alignment equipment.

This course presents and introduction to weighing systems.  The following topics are covered: tension strain gage load cells, motion weighing, how a load cell works, how to troubleshoot load cell and weighing systems, calibration methods, and how Handbook 44 applies to weighing systems.
